The Charlatans return to live duties with the announcement of a UK and Ireland tour this November and December.

The band will kick off at Nottingham’s Rock City on November 29 and wind up at Belfast’s Limelight on December 11. Along the way, the band will also call in at London’s Brixton Academy and Manchester’s O2 Apollo.

The Charlatans – that’s Tim Burgess on vocals, guitarist Mark Collins, bassist Martin Blunt and keyboardist Tony Rogers – will be joined by The Verve’s Pete Salisbury on drums.

But before all that, their new album, Different Days, is released on May 26, and it features a number of special guests including Paul Weller, Johnny Marr and New Order’s Stephen Morris.

The Charlatans play:

29 – Nottingham, Rock City
30 – Sheffield, O2 Academy

01 – Wolverhampton, City Hall
02 – Manchester, O2 Apollo
04 – Glasgow, O2 Academy 1
05 – Newcastle, O2 Academy 1
07 – Leeds, O2 Academy
08 – Cardiff, University Great Hall
09 – London, O2 Academy, Brixton
10 – Dublin, Academy
11 – Belfast, Limelight

Speaking of the tour, Tim Burgess said: “We love playing live - our last tour was my favourite we've ever done and I'm thinking these dates might be even better. We're looking forward to seeing everyone xxx”

As previously reported on Gigwise, The Charlatans will celebrate the release of the new album with a takeover of Manchester’s Oldham Street on May 26.
