Kasabian have unveiled part of a new song via Soundcloud, presumably from their forthcoming new album. You can listen to it on Gigwise below.

The song is named 'Pressie' because the snippet was their Christmas gift to fans, posted on their Facebook page at 2pm GMT yesterday (25 December) and nothing else has been said about the release.

But the sound matches what Serge Pizzorno said about their new material so it's difficult to see it as anything but new album material.

Of the new recordings set for release in 2017, in an interview with NME, Pizzorno said it's a journey back "to their guitar roots" and that it's "nothing like 48:13."

The solely instrumental intro sees raw valve-driven Who-esque guitar sits on top of thumping beats and it sounds like an immense return. We can't wait for the full track to be unveiled as Kasabian gear up to make one of the biggest comeback's of 2017.

Elsewhere, Kasabian announced three shows in Italy sparking suggestions that they're about to announce a full tour, including dates in the UK.

Below are the Kasabian live dates for 2017 so far.

19 July Luglio Taormina
21 July Luglio Roma
24 July Luglio Lucca
