Robert Smith of The CureThe Cure have revealed that they plan to start recording a new album in the new year nad hope to release it in the summer of 2006.

Posting on the bands official website Robert Smith wrote: “We will now not be in the studio ‘for real’ until January 2006 but we are still on course for a summer release as it’s all in the preparation!”

It will be the follow up to 2004’s self titled album and The Cure’s first album since the departure of Perry Bamonte and Roger O’Donnell earlier this year.

Smith also revealed that he is currently working on re-issues of ‘The Blue Sunshine’, ‘Top’, ‘Head On The Door’ and ‘Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me’ as well as a live DVD for release in the summer of 2006 also.
