Manic Street Preachers have unveiled their huge and epic new anthem for Wales in their Euro 2016 bid, with the brilliantly OTT 'Together Stronger (C'Mon Wales)'. Check it out below.
Premiering now over at WalesOnline, the track is a typically monolithic guitar lick courtesy of James Dean Bradfield, atop a chorus fit for stadiums and more than a few references to Andy Williams 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You' - as well as namechecking Ryan Giggs, Gary Speed, Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey and past Wales victories, losses and near-misses.
There are polar ends of this band, and this is the shameless pomp corniness end up to the Nth degree, which is perfect and oh-so-Manics.
In a video directed by the award-winning Kieran Evans, the video sees the band performing the stadium anthem with cameos from Welsh players as they train for the Euros.
“It had always been on the cards,” says Manics’ frontman James Dean Bradfield. “Nick had written lyrics for a song during previous campaigns, but of course, they’d all bitten the dust. “It was the Belgium home game where the cogs in Nick’s head started whirring when we knew it was game on and we had a great chance of qualifying.”
