The Daft Punk album: what we wanted and what we actually got

The new Daft Punk album is finally upon us - and to be quite honest, it's nothing like we expected.

Perhaps we were stuck in the past and too in love with the sounds of Homework and Discovery, but the funk-heavy, prog-rock-disco sounds of Random Access Memories took us by surprise. And that's before we even get started on the insanity of specific tracks such as 'Touch' and 'Contact'. Only robotic genius madmen could come up with that sort of stuff.

So, with Random Access Memories streaming online and officially released on 20 May 2013, we look at what we wanted from the album and what we actually got from the biggest release of the year so far...

What we wanted

What we got

What we wanted

What we got

But what do we think of the new album?
