Who the hell is Joe Bonamassa?

Pardon our ignorance but when we heard that Joe Bonammassa was set to hit number one in the Official UK Album Chart this weekend we were more like, 'who?' than, 'wow!'.

His album 'Driving Towards The Daylight', according to the midweek charts, is ahead of new records from The Enemy, John Mayer, Fun, Tom Jones and The Temper Trap as well as the likes of Keane, Adele and Emeli Sande. With that in mind we did some investigating and present you with the ten things you need to know about Joe Bonamassa.

1. Bonamassa is a blues guitarist from New York.

2. He favours the double necked guitar, as you can see from the picture above.

3. Over a twelve year career, Bonamassa has released ten albums as well as many more whilst colaborating with other artists.

4. He was a child prodigy and opened shows for B.B. King at the tender age of 12.

5. He Tweets things like this,
