As with the rest of the double-album set, ‘Dani California’ was produced by Rick Rubin (Beastie Boys, System Of A Down) in the same house in the Hollywood Hills that the band recorded 1991’s landmark album ‘BloodSugarSexMagik’.

Dani is a welcome Summertime single. The guitar work at the end is lifted from Hendrix’s Purple Haze - and i assumed it was a deliberate homage. I really dont see that much similarity with the Petty’s mary jane.
