The valla serve up an original blend of bass, electric and acoustic guitars with stead fast drumbeats coupled with a captivating lead vocal. They perform structured and melodic rock n’ roll songs delivered with good, honest soul and a foot stomping passion. The band originated from Chester, when the two founding members, Matt and Denis began writing together in late 2002. Stranger than chance meetings, at their workplace, saw the bare bones of the band formed during Spring 2003 when Jim and Mark joined the band. This left the band the unenviable task of looking for a full time committed drummer. Having faith in the tunes and the sound they had created, the valla were undaunted by this prospect and the band began gigging during the summer of 2003. After several gigs with a temporary stand-in, local drummer Dave Roberts approached the band and after showcasing his skills he became the missing fifth member in September 2003. The band have since been rehearsing as a five piece at Mad Dog Studios and are now ready to cast their original material upon a wider audience with gigs booked for Chester, London, Birmingham and St Helens. On paper the valla are: Mark Pearson – Vocals Matt Parsons – Rhythm guitar and backing vocals Den Bywaters- Lead guitar Jim Candlin- Bass and backing vocals Dave Roberts- Drums On stage the valla embody the spirit of a good time rock n’ roll band leading their audience a sweat and booze fuelled dance through their soaring choruses and powerful unique sound.Article Comments (4)
