‘The Rules Of Modern Policing’ certainly provides a slap in the face. The imposing aggression of The Telegraphs is bottled into a short track length which takes aim at the way in which we are monitored by authority leading to a supposed state of paranoia. “Soon they’ll put a camera in your home and tell you it’s for the best,” explains Darcy Harrison voicing his worried opinions.
The Brighton outfit have a definite taste for melody acting as a less established Biffy with a poppier punk presentation. And even though the words may indeed be true and the argument sane, there is something about ‘The Rules…’ that means it never really gets going. Cheesy? Perhaps, but hey at least it’s not Bono telling us all this bollox.
