The title track about the London bombings of 7/7 combines social commentary with a no nonsense guitar based melody. Rennie’s vocals sound a little strained but you can ignore this by putting it down to a punk influence. Or you could get him to gargle honey and lemon beforehand. But that isn’t very rock and roll is it?
‘Farewell My Facist Friend’ is a cracking choice of B side as is the piano version of the title track. The boys tread the line between indie and punk pop like a teenager trying to appear sober in front of their parents. The material is delivered with a conviction that would make Joe Strummer proud even if it’s veering more towards the indie side of things. An interesting debut by the band and label alike.

    Released 14/04/08 on A590 Records.
