It was only a few years ago that Forward, Russia first kicked their way onto the scene with a limited promise that none the less held so much. Their latest single ‘Breaking, Standing’, is the first to be taken from their second album and shows a band who have matured and grown into themselves, but despite the wistful vocal and carefree sparkling guitars, it annoyingly sounds twelve months too late. It would appear that the Leeds based indie kids have seemingly lost some of the former appeal that their New Yorkshire spit and shine held - none the less it’s a fine catchy track by anyone’s standards.
Released 07/04/08 on Cooking Vinyl.
