‘No More Do I Care’ is the second single to be released off Norwich singer songwriter Rory McVicar’s debut album. Rory comes with the Radio One seal of approval having had airplay and acclaim from, amongst others, Rob da Bank, Huw Stephens and Colin Murray. His demo also made the late, great John Peel’s Festive 50 in 2005.
With vocals that sound like a slightly more upbeat version of Morrissey and Coldplay-esque music, ‘No More Do I Care’ is a pleasant enough pop song on first listening. On second listening the song matures on your palate like a half decent wine; distinctive, mellow melodies and catchy lyrics. The opening bars of second track ‘Voice Familiar’ sound like a Coldplay album track but by the time the vocals start Rory’s distinctive voice transforms the song into one worth listening to.
Released 07/04/08 on Series 8 Records.
