The Author - 'Dannie'

A catchy hook and that’s about your lot – The Author’s new single for 2008 ‘Dannie’ is far from imposing, with irritable vocal doubling and over use of the synthesiser it will satisfy only the ears of the impressionable with effortless repetition the order of the day. “Dannie don’t go,” is wailed pathetically from Christian Silver and James Dolan and the distortion effect and screams towards the conclusion are in the realms of laughable as apposed to creative stylistic input. Although it does leave a niggling pop impression after the four minute track time has climaxed, a quick fix of memorable jovialness does not overshadow the lack of quality that overrules all.
