Since 1999’s ‘Play’, a multi-million selling album where almost every song could have made it on its own as a single, Moby always seems to have been on the creative back foot – searching for an adequate follow up instead of just letting it happen. Until now that is. He says on the sleeve notes for new single ‘Alice’ that the song “started with a mistake.” Well, if this is anything to go by, lets hope he keeps making them. Seamlessly combining an injection of feedback and bolshie beats with a conglomeration of vocals from aspiring star Anzli and the 419 Squad, it’s Moby at his most subconscious best, letting things – even the mistakes - just happen.
Released 17/03/08 on Mute.
