The original version of ‘The Time Of Times’ which originally appeared on the 2006 ‘Born In The UK’ album is, as far as Badly Drawn Boy’s songs go, a decent single. This new, light interpretation of the tune – which has been re-worked for a motion picture - is sure to capture fans of Snow Patrol and Keane with its heartfelt strings and piano lead melodies that compliment Badly Drawn Boy’s vocals well, lifting them out of the calm but dull rut they often fall in to. However, two years on, it also sounds like one of the many nice and average singer/songwriter releases that are saturating today’s music industry and would be best lost on the film’s soundtrack.
Released 04/02/08 on EMI.
