Like first single ‘Crocodile’, one couldn’t imagine Underworld choosing not to release ‘Beautiful Burnout’ from their latest album ‘Oblivion With Bells’ as a single. Undoubtedly the albums most club inspired moment, it bubbles with a sinister intensity which finally, as you have come to expect from the definitive duo with over twenty years of experience, explodes into a conglomeration of dissident tribal drums and subtle harmonious synths. In short, it’s Underworld’s greatest moment for some years and one which rekindles the magic and memories of sweat-stained dancefloors which for so long have seemed a distant memory.
Released 14/01/08 on UnderworldLive.
