Pop giant three years in the making, once bald, now hairy Robyn has stolen the radio airwaves from everybody else and has planted her tag all over them in the last couple of months. She has suddenly become huge on the back of the last one or two singles - most notably successful tearjerker ‘With Every Heartbeat’ was the final jigsaw in the puzzle. Her latest album has been around for a good 3 years but she’s still not sick of it – making the most out of recognition and potential riches, ‘Be Mine’ has finally been released and what a decision that is. Sticking to tradition with upbeat violins and drum machine loops, she somehow completes the task of blending melancholy, sorrowing lyrics with a gloriously optimistic tune – that ladies and gentlemen, is a sure sign of a pop star who deserves their success.
Released 14/01/08 on Universal.
