Whether they’re just in it for the fun factor or not, Hello Wembley have a lot to answer for. They are one of the most pretentious, snobbish acts you’ll ever come across if things are to be judged via their debut single ‘Up Great Britain’. Complaining about iTunes, dancing on ice and Jeremy Kyle is fair enough, but in the form of a near-five minute song? No Thank you. It’s not just the tone and the lyrics of the song that should be dismissed; it’s the actual musical content. Weak keyboards open things up, it progresses with a lack of intent and all you end up hearing is the same over-the-top female voice swirling round and round shouting “Great Britain!”, they even cheekily try a Klaxons-esque “oooooo” towards the end, maybe in an attempt to make amends. They come across as moronic, and nothing they ever do will make up for this mess of a song.
