Kat Flint - 'Go Faster Stripes'

It recent times, we seem to have been experiencing a bit of an onslaught of indie-folk music, and you would think one would be at the end of their tether. Sure, when Kat Flint’s new single ‘Go Faster Stripes’ is played for the first time, an instant impression would be a feeling of deja-vu. Gently played plucked guitar bounces about while the vocals lie firmly at the front, a rhythm and a style reminiscent of Feist, especially when the piano joins in. But this adds a lot to the song, although her voice isn’t as beautifully rare a find as Feist’s, there’s still an original touch that makes this song and the accompanying b-side special treats – all be it, they will remind you of a few thousand other musicians.
