More Cazals

Few cover versions really outshine the original, and it is often wondered why some bands even bother. Cazals take on Spandau Ballets ‘To Cut A Long Story Short’ is yet again another one to add to the ‘why bother’ catalogue. It injects a pure amount of exciting punk into the 80’s group’s song - with aggressive guitars and added growling vocals to boot, but it fails to capture the imagination. Then again to release one band’s debut single as your own debut single is a lack of imagination in itself. With this offering the London outfit have paved their road ahead in broken pavement as apposed to ‘Gold’ (yes that’s another Spandau Ballet song).
Released 10/12/07 on Kitsune.
