Losing your musical-virginity to ‘Feel Free’ is a more-than-odd experience. Kano: the former rap-figure of cool vs. the ultimate contributor Damon Albarn. Reading that collaboration on paper makes you grind your teeth and simply hope for the best. When listening, it’s hard to get your head around. Albarn continues his “la-la-London” theme which he had with The Good, The Bad & The Queen but Kano’s dominant input makes it sound more like a Gorillaz song. The song goes on and on, though, repetitive and to put it bluntly, dull – by the end. If a song being aesthetically pleasing is enough with you then go ahead- feel free! But if you’re a picky son-of-a-bitch like myself, this is not for you whatsoever.
Released 03/12/07 on Warner.
