If you can imagine a more powerfully voiced Morrissey singing across a hip-hop beat that is cleverly disguised by some almost jazz-funk melodies then you’ve got the feel of ‘Sea legs.’ It is an incredibly powerful song as its apparently understated harmonies pick you up and whirl you around before you know what’s happened. It’s got all the right ingredients for a song that’s once heard never forgotten. The Shins have produced a groove-god of a number here that’s both intelligent and cool making it a must have single.
Released 03/12/07 on Sub Pop Records.
