Years after she’s become old news it seems that the Avril Lavigne formula still works. One teeny-bopper-turned-alt-pin-up girl, one hard rocking but pretty anonymous band and more riffs recycled than beer cans at Reading Festival. Maybe this belittles Paramore slightly; ‘Crush Crush Crush’ is a heavy and well…crushing piece of rock. But in terms of passion and serious rocking out this is like elevator music compared with a full symphony orchestra. Mass consumable for the teens, mass disposable for the dustbins!
Released 26/11/07 on Atlantic.
