A perfect example of pop melodies violently assembling within attractive changes and tidy lyrics. The Australian outfit Operator Please have once again injected their familiar sounding punching bassline among gentle piano arrangements and bopping violin strokes. Commanding lyrics fall from Amandah Wilkinson’s strong vocals and offer a strategic backbone to 'Leave it Alone' that drifts between casual and cruel. More than the typical indie anthem trying to make its way into Zane Lowe’s DJ set, the song seemingly wants more and achieves what fellow artists are striving to find. The teenage group are on the brink of mass commercial success and if they continue to deliver as seemingly effortlessly as this then everyone will be saying Operator? Yes please.
Released 19/11/07 on Brille.
