Animal Collective - 'Fireworks'

‘Fireworks’ is a gorgeous trippy pop single brimming with crashes and riffs that really do explode and shoot through the song like fireworks. Think of the Pixies vocals set to a dream layered with Arcade Fire style sounds and odd noises and you’ve got it in one; but this isn’t music you can dance to, it’s for kicking back and letting yourself go. Animal Collective are not a band everyone will jump onto straight away, but this single is good enough to thrust them into the alternative limelight.
