‘D.A.N.C.E’ is the most irresistible dance song you’ll hear this year. Bringing back all the sounds of 70’s disco Justice slice and cut with fluorescent precision and serve up strings, funk style beats and kids singing the hook laden lines. Think Donna Summer’s tunes, the Jackson Five and James Brown’s bass lines in a dressed up Saturday night fight and you’ve got this song in a glitter ball nutshell. Stuart Price’s remix pulls the song even further into the 21st century adding more traditional house and dance crowd screams and echoes and whilst this works well in the radio edit version, it goes on far too long in the full remix at 8 minutes. Justice have ‘D.A.N.C.E’ perfected - they come, they do their thing and then leave you for dead on the dance floor; the full re-mix on the other hand drags your body around for longer than is decent.
Released 05/11/07 on Edbanger Records.
