“Shut out the world, shut it out! Shut it out!” Oh how we’d love to do that, just close our eyes and pretend that we have money, good looks and a really ****ing fast car. Then we open them and it’s all grey and rainy. No money, no car and the mirror is running away- fast. Luckily You Say Party, We Say Die! are trying their dandiest to make us forget this with two campaign slogans - “Girls are bitches” and “On you own, you’re all right.” It seems that resignation to the latter breeds the opinions of the former but quite frankly the conviction with which Becky Ninkovic et al bark it out we wouldn’t dare to pick holes in the theory. The opposite A side is another dose of spiky scratchy and sultry punk in the shape of ‘Opportunity’. Not as instant as ‘Like I Give A Care,’ it takes a while to grow but has a great air of creepiness with organs making bed of awkwardness on which the guitars lie. Any band with this much attitude can’t be ignored for much longer.
