Newton Faulkner! New Voice of 2007! Perfect Music! Don’t believe the hype, people. What the music world doesn’t need is another peace-lovin’, matted-haired singer-songwriter, who pushes no musical boundaries. Agreed, the new single ‘All I Got’ is a harmless melody and there’s nothing wrong with Faulkner’s voice, but it smacks of ‘boy band’ in arrangement, especially the chorus. It’s easy to listen to, but maybe that’s the problem. Quite uninspiring, and lets face it, he ruined Massive Attack’s Teardrop as well… Good music for your mum, maybe.
