The seven piece indie band from Cardiff make a bit of a racket with this track, but in a proficient manner. The band formed at University only last year and are set to tour he UK with Canadian group, ‘You Say Party! We Say Die!’ The track is embellished with different singing voices, guitars, keyboards, horns, keyboards, drum, glockenspiels; you name it they’ve got it.
'The International Tweexcore Underground' is lively and bouncy at times, then slow, with Mars Volta-esq unexpected drum bashing tendencies, disturbing the harmony. This may be the only part of the song that doesn’t work too well as it fragments the momentum and previous pleasant melodies. It’s as though the birds we hear tweeting happily at the start are being beaten to death, but alas they come to life again towards the end of the track, and we can forgive Los Campesinos! for giving us a short-term headache. All in all, it’ll be great little track to dance to down the indie-disco.
Released 22/10/07 on Wichita.
