‘Rhinemaidens’ kicks of with jangly guitar riffs and light poppy sounds that instantly give the song a very light vibe but this is brought back into the realms of indie with vocals that match the sense of vulnerability that hides in the song. If you had to pin down a similar sound then what The Envy Corps have here is something that isn’t too far off a Kings Of Leon style number but it is far more gentle in it’s guitars and vocals, which gives ‘Rhinemaidens’ a very cool and slightly different edge. If you’re not singing along or moving your feet by the end of the song then you’ve missed out on a fantastic single.
Released 08/10/07 on Vertigo.
