Von Sudenfed’s 'The Rhinohead' is a throwback to New Order-esque rock-does-dance, getting the foot tapping, but failing to really ignite. After being promised Mark E. Smith, his minimal input on the a-side is surprising. It’s the b-side, Slow Down Ronnie, a biographical look at snooker bad boy Ronnie O’Sullivan, that Smith takes lead ‘vocals’, snarling over a electro beat, which, in typical Fall fashion, sounds more like an incoherent drunken ramble. Pilooski’s 'Rhinohead' remix verges into Gorrilaz’s ‘Dare’ territory, repeating Smith’s one line vocal over a dirty house edit. At risk of turning another legend into a talking head (Shaun ‘It’s daaarre’ Ryder style), Pilooski opts for lead vocal prominence, turning what was a slightly dull Northern Soul-meets-Kasabian a-side, into a thumping house anthem.
