Before we delve into the politics of appropriating an already decent band’s joie de vivre, we must first exclaim that London quartet Noah and the Whale are not a bad band. ‘Five Years Time’ is a cute little single, guilty of overusing the words ‘love’ and ‘sun’ by a million miles but apparently offending to no one. If you think of Noah and the Whale as vomited from the innards of Architecture in Helsinki’s neon coloured raincoats, however - after appropriating the winning recorder/ukulele/fiddle and cutesy handclaps of AIH fame - then there really is something offensive about this band. And that is that they are basking in sunlight that belongs to a far greater band.

Released 24/09/07 on Young and Lost Club.

    • I agree... AIH is WAY better. N&TH are cheap knock-offs.

    • they are completely different bands. AIH are neon, yes, and N&TW are..er..tweed. that review was meaningless anyway. are they cute, winning, inoffensive, offensive, decent, not bad or second rate? you obviously haven’t made your mind up as you use all these terms to describe N&TW. nonsense.
