Should you find yourself in the possession of Travis’s new single, you’d be fooled into thinking that not much has happened in the ten fun fudged years since they unleashed their debut, ‘Good Feeling’, onto the world. 'My Eyes' is a possible lapse in the space-time continuum transporting us back to the late nineties when Travis not only bought the rain with that aptly titled song, but were the forerunners in whiney indie; those days when Coldplay were still faffing around in student dregs and Athlete were unsigned. Years on, Healey and co. are entwined in battles of mortgages and nappies, naming their new single after the preposition that Fran’s son has his eyes. Saccharine covered pointlessness then? ‘fraid so.
