Matchbox Twenty are a band reborn according to singer Rob Thomas. Before, the words that formed the group’s songs were penned solely by the front man. But now after a five year hiatus the reformed group who have somehow sold over 39 million albums worldwide are sharing the burden and slugging it out for song writing supremo. The result, 'How Far We've Come,' is much the same as ever; with the group combining their signature pop sound with a dash of grunge and some lyrics about the end of the world. The group’s new-found urgency is hardly convincing and this sub-par release - clearly written with sales rather then quality in mind - is a monument to the bands bland and mainstream attitude.
Released 24/09/07 on Atlantic.
