Jackson Analogue Day Is Done E.P

Bluesy rhythms on top of a deep Kasabian style stomp, ‘The Day Is Done’ delivers an example of a track with subtle stadium style power and Mod melodies. ‘Bang On’ offers a Creedence Clearwater Revival influenced British blues wale. Lead singer and guitarist Rob Holmes stretches his range to reach a level associated with Chris Cornell.

The organ leads the charge in the popier sounds of  ‘Your Peace Will Suffer.’ Simple in lyrics and substance it fails to act as anything more than a catchy filler. By far the best song on the E.P ‘Concrete Hands,’ is a progression away from the heavier rock blues of the first three tracks. 60s charm and pleasant harmonies deliver a positive and uplifting climax. Fresh in energy and ideas and old in style and originality. This E.P is an offering of some interesting and nice songs, but Jackson Analogue must remember nice often finishes last.
