Although the song title possesses all the tactical astuteness of a Steve McClaren five-man midfield, unlike McClaren ‘Girls Grow Up Faster Than Boys’ illustrates the potential for a bright future for Bow’s finest. An ode to the male-dominated record-collecting scene sees Ollie’s melancholy overtures atop a simply-strummed acoustic guitar and chimed xylophone. Obvious it is, powerful it’s not, but keep listening because much like the Hollyoaks dressing room, there’s a lot of talent in there. Like a wine with age, The Tacticians could grow irresistible.
Released 10/09/2007 on Setanta Records.
