Songs about betting on horse racing certainly stands out as the most memorable song topic in a while. And the music isn’t bad either. New York’s very own The Hold Steady rock out with new single ‘Chips Ahoy’ (it’s a horse apparently). Blessed with a chunky guitar chorus, hoarse vocals (excuse the pun), and psychedelic oscillating organ parts, this single gives off more of a sun drenched vibe than an entire Tenerife hotel resort. An upbeat summer tune that’s both cool enough to sip a mojito to while equally friendly enough to merit consideration for a Shrek soundtrack.
