‘Release The Stars’, an album that should have got a lot more attention, contains ‘Rules & Regulations’, one hell of a track that isn’t even one of the standouts of the record. But for what it is, it’s a honeymoon-soundtrack of romance, joy and glamour. That’s Rufus Wainwright summed up in three words basically. But it’s not a predictable affair, his voice shines above a seemingly out-of-tune recorder making for a karaoke singalong anthem that won’t stop at nothing to get a smile on your face. It makes you want to go on holiday more than anything, somewhere with a bit more sun than the UK’s currently getting.
