The Bees continue ploughing their Sixties aping furrow, trying to wring dry every last shred of credibility and originality it had. 'Listening Man' is yet another Bees song, that sounds a lot like every previous Bees song of late. A sun lounger of a song, as chilled as a summers day drinking Pimms in the park. The problem is it's just too laid back. Brass casually parps away in the background as bongo beats resonate round the sunshine vibes, but it all drifts past like leaves on the river, making no impact on the listener. Perfect background sounds for the beach but nowhere else.
