‘Strange and Beautiful’, Aqualung’s breakthrough paean to stalking, isn’t a great song. It was pleasant, inoffensive and sold a few cars. Does it really give him the right to do this? ‘Cinderella’ is so devoid of life, a tune or any sense of heart that you can barely stand up while listening to it. It literally feels like you’re having the life sucked from you with the stock piano and quiet/loud crescendos that lead you down a tattered path to nowhere. This utterly execrable, useless single won’t likely even find a home on Radio 2 and hopefully will never infect the ears of impressionable youths. Forget your Marilyn Mansons, this could truly harm a young mind.
