Getting the “Digital Release Only” treatment is ‘Sick, Sick, Sick’ QOTSA's heaviest, most grittiest tune yet. Coming off like the theme tune for a guy that keeps people prisoner in his basement, a maniacal scream fills the air whilst Homme rips through a Kyuss-esque riff that will make your teeth hurt due to it’s thundering hum, the only thing missing are the horror movie screams in the background. Scary as hell and absolutely unforgettably brilliant in the same respect, the riffs paint a dirtier picture upon the psychedelic stoner rock canvas the band have designed over the years. A brilliant track that will be a blatant choice as one more to throw on the ‘best of…’ in a few years time, it would seem Homme has taken the reigns more firmly at first glance, as this kicks the crap out of anything on ‘Lullabies…’ and pushes the envelope just that little bit further than ‘Songs For The Deaf’ did. Being scared was never this much fun.
Digital only release on 04/06/07 via Interscope Records
