The London quartet play it friendlier than Casper on the wispy second single from their debut album of the same name, a light-as-air, nod-along affair in which lead singer Simon Pettigrew helpfully reminds would-be agoraphobics that yes, indeed, ‘The World Is Outside’. Synths distilled from Duran Duran’s ‘A View To A Kill’ and a somewhat Franzified tempo-stomp two thirds into the song try and lend it some heft, but the tune’s wide-to-wider-eyed bridge (You could do anything, I can do anything sung over contemplative, ‘Clocks’-like chords) leaves it hovering alongside the ghosts of Chris Martin past and Tom Chaplin present; maybe that’s exactly where Ghosts want to be in the future, but you won’t need an exorcism to shake melodies this lightweight.

    Released 04/06/07 on Atlantic Records
