




As Canada blossomed into the stratosphere with a myriad of bands straining to grab a piece of the preverbal cake, it was The Arcade Fire who, rightly so, were top of the pile with all and sundry clambering for Neon Bible. Out of the ashes though, the second album by The Stills, will, if first single 'Destroyer' is anything to go by, blow the Fire out. In the three years since their debut album The Stills have been concocting Without Feathers and the first single is a monumental taster. Dark in lyrics, it’s bubonic on its dark side but with a horn section that blasts out of nowhere it suddenly becomes epic in its grandiose vision to uplift and inspire.
