More Ray LaMontagne

Fresh from Brits success, gravel-voiced troubadour Ray LaMontagne unleashes the third single from his Trouble album. As you’d expect, it’s another sumptuous slice of storming Belgian house. Alright, no. It’s not. It’s another ballad. Obviously. It’s what you’d expect basically, think Jack Johnson after a 20 fags and a bottle of brandy. As chart-friendly singer-songwriters go, he’s the best of the bunch I suppose. I’m struggling for things to say about this. Can you tell? Erm… this isn’t a cover of the famous Dolly Parton track, it’s actually a whole new song. And it’s got guitars and a piano and everything. Will that do? Oh good.
