Drawing comparisons to everyone from Belle and Sebastian to Mogwai, former Arab Strap member Malcolm Middleton seems to straddle the whole Scottish music scene. Like much of his new album ‘Fuck It I Love You’ is a sweet, gentle song to a lost lover, at once deeply bitter and really sorry. Featuring The Reindeer Section's Jenny Reeve on guest vocals, at times it becomes painfully twee and the pared down guitars give it a melancholy feel that sounds almost half asleep. Quirky though, this is song some people will take to their hearts, while others will pass by and not even notice. We'll go for the former.
