Louie – ‘I Know What You’re Doing Tonight’ (WaKS) Released 09/04/07

Hens lay eggs. Geese bite people on the arse. Louie make noise. It’s basic science. This tune is tightly wound up and then allowed to chaotically unravel over a cathartic three minutes of what sounds enjoyably like the band bashing the shit the out their instruments and yelping in time. With Stephen Street on production duty, this release, and the subsequent B-side ‘Smoking Champagne’, sees Louie do the musical equivalent of what Jamie Oliver calls “simple food done well”. On this evidence their debut LP - due for release later in the year - will be a barnstorming drunk-punk treat. Formidable.
