The Black Ghosts are a mysterious snyths ‘n’ keyboards duo charged with the difficult task of making the genre of mainstream dance music credible again. ‘Any Way You Choose To Give It’ is a dark, sexy slice of electro-house that’s just pop enough to ensure it gets plenty of play both in clubs and on the radio. Catchy isn’t a strong enough word; the beat instantly grabs you and doesn’t let up one second of the track’s three-and-a-half minute duration. The most striking thing about it, given the dearth of electronic music out there, is that it’s actually pretty original. There a hint of The Rapture here and a dash of The Faint there but nothing that will make you think you’ve heard it all before. A fantastic example of what dance music can be when its practitioners aren’t preoccupied with sampling 80’s TV shows for their latest ‘ironic’ masterpiece.
