Archie Bronson Outfit – ‘Dart For My Sweetheart’ (Domino) Released 26/03/07

Archie Bronson Outfit’s latest song is so dark and disturbing you’ll want to call in social services – and that’s just for the tracks title. If you do hang on to listen to the song however, when the music starts, you might just want to take the phone off the hook and enjoy the noise that’s being thrashed out. The Wiltshire band recorded ‘Dart For My Sweetheart,’ in Nashville during the making of their sophomore album, ‘Derdang Derdang.’ Consequently, there’s a strong American country rock influence which bleeds out of the speakers; from the driving bass to the subtle guitar hooks. It’s a forceful sound which is topped of with the relentless chanting of, “Dart for my sweetheart.” Intensely good stuff - if a little disturbing.
