    starno starno starno starno star
With each passing year, Brett Anderson slips ever further from the promise of the first two Suede albums. So much so that ‘Love is Dead’ could well be read as a titular metaphor for his career. Seriously, it’s hard to see how this drivel ever made it to the studio, let alone out of it. A string-obscured affair with fifth-form lyrics so dreary you wonder if he’s even read a book since Dog Man Star, this is the sound of Anderson trying to out-bland Richard Ashcroft. And – incredibly – he succeeds. What’s going on Brett? Didn’t you have star quality once? Offensively bad.

    • What the hell? You are so wrong! I’d give my reasons but I don’t like spending more time writing a comment than the reviewer does writing the review. 4/5
