A lot is made in the press about Keith’s name. “Dull, uninspiring, insipid, forgettable and boring” they say. Well we want to say something about that. Stop being so nice! Keith? Name a famous charismatic Keith? You can’t can you? (Keith Chegwin definitely does not count). ‘Hold That Gun’ is a fairly solid blast of cultured indie pop that never really gets out of first gear. Sadly this song is a highlight of their ‘Red Thread’ album which does not say a lot for the rest of the LP. It’s hard to muster an opinion on Keith really. Everything moves along at a jolly pace and they play their instruments well. Dearey me we sound like their mothers. Keith, go away for a bit. Come back calling yourself ‘The Nazi Cow Pats’ or ‘Harold Shipman Was Innocent’ and make us at least a bit interested. Until then we have no option but to file you under P for Pointless.
